Was ist Multimedia?
Multimedia gibt es in vielen verschiedenen Formaten. Es kann fast alles sein, was Sie hören oder sehen können, wie Bilder, Musik, Ton, Videos, Aufzeichnungen, Filme, Animationen und mehr.
Webseiten enthalten oft Multimedia-Elemente unterschiedlicher Art und Formate.
Browser-Unterstützung
Die ersten Webbrowser unterstützten nur Text, beschränkt auf eine einzige Schriftart in einer einzigen Farbe.
Später kamen Browser mit Unterstützung für Farben, Schriftarten, Bilder und Multimedia!
Multimediale Formate
Multimedia-Elemente (wie Audio oder Video) werden in Mediendateien gespeichert.
Der häufigste Weg, den Typ einer Datei zu ermitteln, besteht darin, sich die Dateierweiterung anzusehen.
Multimediadateien haben Formate und verschiedene Erweiterungen wie: .wav, .mp3, .mp4, .mpg, .wmv und .avi.

MP3 ist das beste Format für komprimierte Musikaufnahmen. Der Begriff MP3 ist zum Synonym für digitale Musik geworden.
