Definition und Verwendung

Die metaKey-Eigenschaft gibt einen booleschen Wert zurück, der angibt, ob die „META“-Taste gedrückt wurde, als ein Tastenereignis ausgelöst wurde.

Nicht alle Tastaturen haben die Meta-Taste. Dies ist bei Sun-Mikrosystemtastaturen und MIT- und LISP-Maschinentastaturen üblich. Der Metaschlüssel ist entweder mit „META“ beschriftet oder mit einem durchgehenden Rautensymbol „◆“ gekennzeichnet.

Auf Mac-Tastaturen wird die META-Taste durch die Taste "Command/Cmd" ("⌘") dargestellt.

Hinweis: Diese Eigenschaft ist schreibgeschützt.
