Definition und Verwendung

Die Eigenschaft parentNode gibt den übergeordneten Knoten des angegebenen Knotens als Node-Objekt zurück.

Hinweis: In HTML ist das Dokument selbst der übergeordnete Knoten des HTML-Elements, HEAD und BODY sind untergeordnete Knoten des HTML-Elements.
